Walk of Fame

The Walk of Fame award started in 2011.  This award honours recipients for their significant and positive contribution to the region now known as the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and its people. 

The recipients are considered for the award due to the recognition they have brought to Kalgoorlie-Boulder nationally and internationally. 

Each year, the Walk of Fame Committee will consider the recognition of at least one outstanding Kalgoorlie-Boulder individual with a plaque to be placed on the Eastern end of Hannan Street in the Kalgoorlie CBD.

The recipient/s will be unveiled at the Australia Day Awards Ceremony as part of the Australia Day breakfast held in Centennial Park.

Australia Day Awards

Each year a local ctizen and one local community group in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder will be eligible for the Australia Day Awards. 

The recipients will be selected from people and groups who have made a noteworthy contribution during the current year or given outstanding service to the local community over a number of years through active involvment. 

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Australia Day Awards provides the following awards each year for presentation at the "Big Aussie Breakfast" event on Australia Day:

  • Australia Day Citizen Award
  • Australia Day Community Group or Event Award

In addition to the main awards, the Mayor, at his discretion, may select a worthy nominee that has made a significant contributon to the community to recieve the "Mayoral Award".
