How do I know my application has been received?
After submitting your application on our website you will receive an email acknowledgement. This is confirmation that your application has been received by the City.
How do I know if I have been shortlisted for an interview?
Candidates that have been shortlisted will be notified within two weeks of the closing date by our People and Culture team. If you are not contacted within this time frame please take this is as indication that your application has been unsuccessful. 
 
How do I apply for employment opportunities?
The City only accepts applications submitted via our website.  To apply go to our Employment Opportunities page.
 
If you do not have regular access to a computer or internet, please visit our friendly Customer Service Centre located on Hannan Street (Informaiton below) who will be able to assist you in submitting your application. Please remember to bring with you all the required documentation as per the Application, Recruitment and Selection Guidelines.

What if I do not have an email address?

No problems!

If you do not have a current email address , lets get you set up in a quick and simple way! Visit https://www.google.com/intl/en/mail/help/about.html and click on ‘Create an account’. Follow the prompts to establish your account (remember to write down your user name and password so that you can access your email later). Gmail is easy to set up and can be accessed from any device. Can I drop my Resume into the City for any future employment opportunities?
The City does not accept unsolicited applications and does not refer to past applications for current vacancies. Therefore, you should directly apply for vacant positions even if you have previously applied, unless the advertisement specifically mentions that previous applicants need not apply.
How do I put my application together?
The City has put together a helpful Application, Recruitment and Selection Guidelines to assist you in this process.
 
Can I save my application and come back to it later?
No, your application will need to be completed in one sitting. You are unable to save and come back to it later.
 
Do I need to answer all the pre-screening questions in the application?
Yes, all questions are mandatory fields. If you do not answer these questions, you will not be able to submit your application and you will see red writing on the screen, indicating which question(s) still require a response.

 
How do I know what this position involves?
When you click on the vacant position you have the option to download a copy of the Position Description which outlines the purpose of the position and accountabilities. If you still need further clarification please contact our friendly People and Culture team at the City on (08) 9021 9600 or email PeopleandCulture@ckb.wa.gov.au  who will be more than happy to assist you with any queries you may have.
 
Is this the position for me?

What is the salary of the position as it has not been advertised?
The remuneration package will be negotiated at the time of interview and will be based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience in accordance with the position.
